Present:

A scenic tour through the hills of the German Township.

This friendly (but rolling) paced 40 mile ride departs the city via Kelly Drive from the Art Museum steps.

We will climb up Midvale through East Falls and into Germantown criss crossing through Fern Hill Park and the South West section of the neighborhood.

From there we drop back down on to Wissahickon Avenue and ride parallel to the park as we head into Mount Airy. A quick sprint across the McCallum Street Bridge follows to take us into Chestnut Hill as we continue our park edge route and then briefly cross City Limits and head north into Whitemarsh.

After our Whitemarsh loop we will return to Germantown Ave for a brief climb and then drop down Rex back to West Chestnut Hill for another loop that will eventually drop us on to Emlen as we head back to Mount Airy.

A quick drop down Wayne Avenue will return us to Germantown before we take the Lincoln Drive Bike Path down to Ridge where we will head towards School House Lane and the Wissahickon Brewing Company.

After taking on the appropriate amount of carbs we will cross the Falls Bridge and head to the Convention Center via MLK Drive, the Parkway and around City Hall.

This ride is for intermediate road cyclists and up.

There are some steep climbs and steep descents

There will be an estimated 2600+ feet of climbing in just under 25 miles.

Experience with this type of terrain will make the ride more enjoyable.
