This is the real Champion hooded sweatshirt. It’s a heavier tough cotton. Production of this type stopped in the early, early 90’s.

front and back connected by a tougher woven cotton. tough, long cuffs.

Later models lose the connector panel and use a weaker thin cotton. cuffs are weak, the hood is smaller and loses the point. I believe the early ones were made in the USA. Not the later ones.
